Answer to "perjury question": Benoni married (1) Mornin' Haynes on 25 Nov 1782 in Bedford Co, VA. Mornin' was b in 1763 in Bedford Co, VA. "According to the Brief Sketch of Henry Haynes 1701-1784, William Haynes 1727-1804, and Richard Haynes 1763-1850 Aid to the American Revolutionary War printed in 1964 - It is supposed that Mornin' Haynes, who married Benoni Perryman of Henry Co, VA on November 25, 1782 is a relative of Henry, William and Richard Haynes; but it is not confirmed due to records being burned."

Mary "Polly" Perryman married John Doss on 27 Aug 1806 in Jefferson Co, TN. Elizabeth Perryman married Laben Adams on 20 Jan 1804 in Jefferson Co, TN. John Perryman married Elizabeth A. Henderson on 8 May 1810 in Jefferson Co, TN. Jethrew Perryman - no marriage. Joshua Perryman married Nancy Loving on 18 Apr 1809 in Williamson Co, TN. Francina Perryman married Charles Mitchell on 16 Feb 1814 in Roane Co, TN.

1814-1815 Benoni, John and Jethrew served as jurors in Claiborne Co, TN - Court Minutes.

1817 - John Perryman of Roane Co, TN bought land adjoining Charles Mitchell (Book E-1, page 413).

1813 - Joshua Perryman on muster roll of Captain White's Company - Pioneers of Roane Co, TN.

Since it was common practice in those days to only list minor children in wills, it is doubtful whether he perjured himself. His first family is grown with families of their own. On 23 Jan 1808 he sold all of his possessions which included: four feather beds, dishes, tools, etc., in Jefferson Co, TN.

According to "Index to Early TN Wills and Administration" - Will in Maury Co, TN Will Book - #158 (Mu) - 30 Aug 1827. Inventory of estate taken by J.C. Perryman (wife), Administrator: Jerusha Perryman (Will Book D, pages 295-298.

September 16, 1829 - Court allows year's allowance for widow, Jurisha Perreman, widow of Benoni, for herself and child (page 187).

September 1832 - Johnson Richards and Jerusha, his wife, petition for Woodson M. Perryman and Narcissay Perryman, minor heirs of Benoni, deceased, state Jerusha was lawfully married to Benoni, the father of the two minors, on the day in July 1826, when Benoni departed this life. Richards states there is no other heir or claimant at law and that the third part for the dower be set aside. (Carroll County, TN Records).
