• 11. BERENGARIA (Kennington Palace, Surrey 1 May [1276 or 1277]-young). The Continuator of Florence of Worcester records the birth in 1276 of "filiam…Berengariam" to "Alienor regina"[818]. The Annals of Winchester record the birth “Kal Mai…apud Kenyngtone” in 1276 of “Alianora regina domino Edwardi regi Angliæ…filiam…---”[819]. The Chronicle of John de Oxenedes records that “Alianora regina” gave birth to “filiam...Berengarium”, dated to 1276 from the context[820]. If the birth of Margaret is correctly recorded in 1275 [sic] as shown above, Berengaria must have been born prematurely if born in 1276. An alternative possibility is that the year was incorrectly recorded and should have been 1277.
