Bernard "Ben" Adolph was born to Carl and Martha (Kranz) Hamann in Albany, Minnesota. Ben had a twin sister, Ida Magdalene. In 1918 he was confirmed in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Farming Township, Minnesota.
He married Emma Helene (Richter) on May 22, 1942 in the Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Albany, Minnesota. Ben and Emma had 3 children, sadly their first born son died at birth. They lived in the village of Albany where he was employed by Kraft General Food Company for many years. Both Ben and Emma loved to garden and grew wonderful vegetables and beautiful flowers.
Ben married Florence Esther (Perusse) Altenhofen on June 13, 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Emma, June 19, 1963; second wife, Florence, on June 10, 1977; 1 son, Roger (infant); and 4 brothers, George (Elfrieda Barchenger), Carl (infant), William (Arlene Lemke), and Edwin (Johanna Lemke).
He was survived by 1 son, Leonard (Sharon Schultz), 1 daughter, Carol; 3 brothers, Hubert (Hildegard Sabrowsky), Arthur (Frieda Lemke), and Otto (Linda Klug); and 1 sister, Ida (Elmer) Sabrowsky.
The funeral took place at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Farming Township, Minnesota with burial in the church cemetery.
Ben was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. We was well-liked by both family and friends.
