Berneice I. Hackman, age 92, of Geneva, formerly of Wasco, passed away Saturday December 8, 2012 at Robin’s Nest Home Healthcare Facility in Geneva.
She was born October 10, 1920 in Grand Ridge, Illinois, the daughter of Guy and Irene (Gillum) Stone. She and her husband, Norbert, met in Elburn and were married in 1941 in St. Gall’s Catholic Church.
Berneice was a member of the Sweet Adelines of the Fox Valley, the Kane County Farm Bureau, and was a Wasco Ladies Aide. Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of her family. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children Cecelia Hackman of Batavia, Robert (Margaret) Hackman of Maryland, Steven (Jan) Hackman of Wisconsin and Katherine Crimmins of St Charles; grandchildren Andrea, Nicole and Keith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Norbert.
Funeral services and burial were held privately Wednesday December 12, 2012 at Garfield Cemetery in Campton Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 3939, 1710 South 7th Avenue, Saint Charles, Illinois 60174, would be appreciated.
