Sissie Pitchlynn Bryan was born 3-11-1902 to Ellington Paul and Agnes (Wright) Pitchlynn. She was born at Albion, I.T. and her parents originated from Wade Co., I.T. She had twin siblings who died early in childhood. The names and dates are unknown. Sissie was orphaned as a young girl and was cared for by relatives and guardians until she was old enough to care for herself. She attended a Catholic school in Antlers and Tuskahoma Female Academy, Tuskahoma, both in Oklahoma, also Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Ks. She married Dick Y. Bryan at Van Buren, Ar. On 9-8-1924 and they lived in Wister, Ok. Ft. Smith, Ar., Mena Ar., Idabel, Ok., Snow, Ok. and Talihina, Ok. Spending most of their life in Talihina, Ok. She was employed by the Talihina Indian Hospital, in Talihina, Ok. as a nursing assistant. She enjoyed crocheting and other handwork, gardening and preserving food for the family. She also made most of her own clothing. Sissie was a member of the Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Eastern Star in Talihina. There were 5 sons born to Sissie and Dick. They were: Richard Paul, born 9-7-1925, George Huston, born 8-8-1927, James Walter, born 1-9-1935, Billy Joe, born 2-16-1932 and died on year later on 2-16-1933, also Crawford John, born 6-5-1935. Grandchildren: Richard Michael Bryan, born 12-11-1948, James Scott Bryan, born 2-23-1962, Karen Ann Bryan Young Johnston, born 9-25-1948, Steven Craig Bryan, born 9-30-1949, Richard Alan Bryan, born 9-8-1952, Janice Marie Bryan, born 10-17-1954, Patricia ann. Bryan Flynn, born 3-15-1951, David Wayne Bryan, born 6-15-1952, Melissa Bryan Miller, born 9-20-1958, Laurinda Sue Bryan Duncan and Rebecca Lee Bryan Crook, born 6-09-1960, Peter Allen Bryan, born 1-5-1963 and Summer Elizabeth Bryan, born 3-26-1978. Great grandchildren: Elizabeth Marie Bryan, Ellen Michelle Bryan, Emily Melissa Bryan, Michael Paul Bryan, Stephanie Lee Benz, Nicole Elizabeth Benz, Elizabeth Jeanette Young, Darren Jeffery Young, Mathew Benson Bryan, Sarah Cody Bryan, Mary Kristen Bryan, Adam Thomas Bryan, Timothy Bryan Flynn, Amber Miller, Autumn Miller, Nicole Duncan, Collette Duncan and Lauren Bryan. Sissie had an uncle, Crawford John Anderson, who was a member of the Light Horsemen.
