Bernice Hight Edge, 78, of Ooltewah died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, in a local hospital.

She was a longtime member of Ridgedale Baptist Church having been a member for 52 years. She was a former nursery coordinator at the church and she was active in the Leona Sunday School Class.

She retired from First Tennessee Bank after 41 years of service. She worked out of the downtown bank location and worked in various departments including bookkeeping, tellers and safety deposit transactions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hight; husband, Balos Morris Edge; brother, Elmer Hight.

She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Anderson and Eleanor Howard both of Ooltewah; grandson, Jeffrey Scott Howard; sister, Vetta Rhodes of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at noon at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. William E. Owens officiating.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Leona Sunday School Class.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
