About Berta Bergmann
Dasha’s family lived in Prague in the Smichov district which was on the western bank of the Vltava river. (Moldau). They lived on the ground floor of 4 Dvorakova (now Pechackova) St The cook’s name was Ruzenka.
The family attended the local synagogue of Smichov. It was there that the two boys Karel and Dasha met their uncle major Adolf Jung. Quido Bergmann also had a seat in the famous Pinkas synagogue. Sometimes they visited the Herman family in Vinohrady in their house in the Sumavaska Street.
Dasha’s mother, Berta died when he was ten years old. She was only 41 years, and supposedly died of blood poisoning, after being unwell at various times. She is buried in the Strasnice cemetery in Prague section 9, row 6, grave 23.
In 1935, Quido remarried s divorced lady, Olga Goldschmid who had a son called Richard.
