Bertha Mary Ann Sprute

Bertha M Sprute, 70, of Albany, OR, a former resident of north central Idaho, died at the Oregon city Sept 10 after suffering a stroke.

Mrs. Sprute lived at Lewiston from 1957 to 1974 working as a housekeeper at St Joseph's Hospital. She moved to Corvallis, OR in 1974 and worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital there. She moved to Albany after retired in 1977.

Mrs. Sprute was born June 28, 1914 at Fort Shaw, MT to J Nicholas & Mary Ann Wassmuth Schaefer. She moved as a young child with her parents to Greencreek and later lived at Mount Angel and Woodburn, OR near Portland. She worked at a Richland, WA hospital before moving back to Greencreek.

She married Rudolph Sprute at Cottonwood, October 25, 1939. He passed away in August, 1969.

Mrs. Sprute is survived by two sons, three daughters, three brothers, four sisters and 11 grandchildren.

The Rev Robert Waldman of Lapwai celebrated the funeral and the burial was at Mount Angel Oregon.
