Dr John married Margaret, daughter of Polson of Rogart, and grand-daughter of the Honourable Charles Mackay of Sandwood issue,

• a son, William,

William married Jane, daughter of Kenneth Scobie of Achimore ; issue, several sons? with whom he emigrated to Prince Edward's island, about twenty years since.

and two daughters.

• Dr John's eldest daughter married Hugh Mackay of Dalangdale, but had no issue ; and
• his youngest daughter, Jane, married Robert Mackay of the clan-Abrach branch
