About Bethuel .
Bethuel was Abraham's nephew, as son of Abraham's brother Nahor, and was also Abraham's great-nephew through his mother Milcah, who was daughter of Abraham's other brother Haran. Bethuel was born after Isaac. Bethuel is also referred to as "an Aramean". It is elsewhere stated that the family of Bethuel were idolators. Bethuel died by eating the poisoned food, in his own home, intended for Abraham's servant Eliezer.

Historical figure from The Holy Bible / Hebrew Torah, Bethuel was an Aramean man ["the Syrian of Padanaram" (Genesis 25:20)], the youngest son of Nahor and Milcah, the nephew of Abraham, and the father of Laban and Rebecca. Bethuel was also a town in the territory of the tribe of Simeon, west of the Dead Sea. Some scholars identify it with Bethul and Bethel in southern Judah, to which David gives part of the spoils of his combat with the Amalekites.
