Betty Jean Hackett, 77
Sister of Myron ?Mike? Ellenberger of Reiffsburg, Betty Jean Hackett, 77, of Mt. Morris, Ill., died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Pinecrest Community in Mt. Morris.
Born July 31, 1929 to Herman and Flossie (Calhoun) Ellenberger, she married the Rev. Henry E. Hackett in Plumtree Sept. 25, 1965. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1996.
She and her husband owned and operated Plumtree Antiques for over 30 years. She was a resident of Huntington County most of her life but graduated from Polling High School in Bryant. She and her husband ministered at First Christian Church in Andrews where she also played the organ and taught Sunday school for many years.
In addition to her brother in Reiffsburg, she is survived by four daughters, Ellen Hackett of Andrews, Ferol Labash of Mt. Morris, Sherry Hackett-Andrews of Noblesville, and Bonnie Vendeventer of Elizabeth; three sons, David B. Wilson of Milford, Bradford T. Hackett of Dublin, Ohio, and Paul H. Hackett of Brazil; three sisters, Iva Lou White of of Hartford City, Carolyn Rouch of Middlebury, and Bonnie Fear of Pennville; four other brothers, Kenneth Clair Ellenberger of Claypool, Loren Ellenberger of Beckley, W. Va., Larry Ellenberger of Bryant, Darrell ?Stan? Ellenberger of Linn Grove; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Cheryl Wilson-Lynch and Mary R. Hackett, a son, Steven Hackett, two brothers, Howard and Jerry Ellenberger, and a sister, Arlene Mantel, all preceded her in death.
Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday will be at Apostolic Grace Fellowship?the former Andrews First Christian Church?in Andrews with Wayne Hume, the youth minister of Northeast Christian Church in Rockford, Ill., officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Andrews.
Calling at Bailey-Love Mortuary in Huntington will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to Pinecrest Good Samaritan Fund.
