About Beverly Ann Aleshire

Funeral services for Beverly Ann Daigle Aleshire, a devout Catholic, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church in Woodworth with Father John Pardue officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers in Alexandria.

Mrs. Aleshire, 78, of Woodworth, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Regency House in Alexandria surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on August 5, 1933 in Houma. In 1940, she moved with her family to New Orleans where she lived until she married Ray E. Aleshire in 1958. For the next 23 years as an Air Force wife, she made a loving home for her family in the Philippines, Japan, Massachusetts, Kansas, Arizona, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi and finally settling in Alexandria.

She was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was an administrative assistant for USDA Rural Development for several years before finally retiring from the Louisiana Department of Labor in 2006.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Ray E. Aleshire; parents, Beverly James Daigle and Esma Marie Landry Daigle; and two sisters, Jacqueline Daigle DeBat and Margaret Ann Daigle.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Jane Aleshire Rabalais and Mary Aleshire Butler of Alexandria; a son, Darren Aleshire of Woodworth; sister, Betty Jane Daigle of Woodworth; a brother, Morris James Daigle of New Orleans; grandchildren, Hannah Rabalais, Abbie Butler, Brittany Masters (Brett), Marie Elaina Long, and Sean Patrick Long (Laura).

Pallbearers will be Darren Aleshire, Jude Mathews, Mayor David Butler, Brett Masters, David C. Butler III and Nikkie Gradley.

The family would like to thank the staff of Regency House for the loving care that was given to our Mother throughout the years and to express our appreciation to Journey Hospice.
