Bhagat Singh Rekhi

First born, April 18th 1916 at Sukho -Rawalpindi. High school from Khalsa High School Sukho in 1933. Joined Sinclaire's hotel in Karachi an Apprentice . Moved nearer home in 1935 and Joined Chaklala Arsenal as a store keeper. At the out break of ww II enrolled in the army as a junior commissioned officer in Ordnance Corps at in 1939. Active war service in the middle east with 8th Army at Egypt & Sudan. Commissioned in 1948, took part in Police action for liberation of Hyderabad state. Saw active service in Eastern sector in NEFA, and in Jammu & Kashmir. Served in all four commands of Indian army and retired in 1968. Re-employed and deputed with NCC from 1968 to 1972. Expired in an accident on April 2nd 1974
