Bill G. Patterson, 78, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Heartland Health Care Center, Normal.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery, West Des Moines, Iowa with the Dr. Randy Ehrhardt officiating.

Memorials maybe made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 1617 E. Emerson, Bloomington or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL is in charge of arrangements. Bill was born November 10, 1932, in Dallas Center, Iowa, the son of Glen and Ethel Patterson. He married Linda Thurtle on November 4, 1966, in West Des Moines, Iowa.

She survives. Also surviving is a son, Kelly (Terese) and a granddaughter, Amy Nicole; two uncles, Carroll Loos of Banning, California; Tom Irwin of Arlington Heights, Illinois; a cousin, Ralph Mitchell of Cool, California; and two godchildren, Shawn Dohogne of Hartland, Wisconsin, and Sarah Fedro of Davenport, Iowa.

The family extends deep appreciation for the prayers offered and the many calls, notes, and cards conveying support and encouragement during Bill's illness.
