About Bill Reynolds
Bill's history is too colourful to reduce to words. Born in Argentina, orphaned young (the writer thinks) and raised by missionaries in the less occupied parts of Argentina. Spent some time in the UK as a young man with the Sutton family (of Sutton Seeds fame.) Met Chinky in South Africa mid to late 1920s. Assume they were married in SA prior to departure for Argentina where Bill would become a senior member of the Du Pont executive (which included trips to the US head office where a lifelong friendship developed with the Jenkinson family.) Became disillusioned with Argentina during the Peron regime and emigrated to South Africa early 1960s, he and Chinky founding Reynolds Woodworks in Johannesburg during the mid sixties. Faia (Bill) was a senior Mason and an elder of his church; he did much for charity.
They lived in residential hotels for many years but in 1976 bought their first and only home in SA : at Turf Club, with the workshop in their backyard....where the Asadas were made. Such beautiful people, loved by all and never forgotten!
