About Blanchard Dixon

On February 17, 1995, we lost a very wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Blanchard Dixon was born September 20, 1909 in Payson, Utah, a son of Charles C.F. and Adelia Ann Schaerrer Dixon. He married May Taylor, June 25, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.During his youth he worked on his father's farm. He graduated from Payson High School. Blanchard enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends in Payson Canyon and the High Uintah Mountains. He worked at Dixon Market until he purchased the Payson Cold Storage and Locker Plant. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Sunday School, M.I.A., and Priesthood Quorums. He was a Bishop, Stake High Counselor, Home Teacher, and Temple Worker. He served a mission with his wife, May, in the Columbia South Carolina Mission serving in Glenville, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, May, of Payson; five sons and a daughter and their spouses: Dennis and Rosemary; Don, all of Payson; Glenn and Jeri, Blackfoot, Idaho; Blaine and Carol, Modesto, California; Russell, Walnut Creek, California; and Kathleen and Ray Horspool, of Yucaipa, California. 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers: Louis Hansen, Spanish Fork; Jean Westring, Nephi; Junior, Richfield; Sheldon, Payson; and Paul Dixon, of Spanish Fork. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mae Dixon, two sisters and three brothers: Deon Cloward, Bernice Fraughton, Charles, Douglass, and Quayle Dixon.

Services will be Tuesday, February 21, 1995, 11:00 a.m., in the Payson First LDS Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Monday 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Tuesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
