About Bob Prusak

    Bob Prusak was born July 29th 1935, in Bridgeport Conn,  the first born of Al & Emma Prusak. He spent his childhood along with his younger brother "Junior" at ( 111 Drome Ave ) in Stratford, Conn. He went to Honeyspot school and Stratford High School , graduating in 1953.
  He played ping pong as a child and baseball in High School ( Lefty pitcher & first base ). He loved to draw cartoons and did some political cartoons while employed at the Bridgeport Post. He retired from the Post in 1990 after over 40 years. He had three children with his first wife June ( Churchill ) Prusak, Jeffrey, Robert & Cheryl. He had one child with his second wife Shirley ( Smith ) Prusak , Brian. 


Obituary: Robert Prusak, age 80, of Stratford, beloved husband of 44 years to Shirley (Smith) Prusak, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born on July 29, 1935 in Bridgeport to the late Alexander and Emma (Dudak) Prusak. Bob was a lifelong resident of Stratford and graduated in 1953 from Stratford High School where he played baseball and also table tennis which he had won many championships. Bob had also served in the U.S. National Guard. Bob was retired from Bridgeport Post Publishing Co. as a linotype operator for over 30 years. He also did occasional political cartoons for the newspaper, combining his interest in politics and drawing. Bob was a lifelong Yankee fan and a UCONN women's basketball fan. He also enjoyed watching football games. He was an avid collector and enjoyed this hobby very much. Robert was a loving, caring father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jeffrey Prusak and his wife, Dolores, of Monroe, Robert Prusak and his wife, Nancy, of Fairfield, Cheryl (Prusak) Sosik and her husband, Wayne, of Stratford and Brian Prusak of Stratford; seven grandchildren, Lindsey and Jeffrey Prusak, Annie and Austin Prusak and Ryan, Jake and Emily Sosik; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his only sibling, Alexander Prusak. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 9:45 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10:30 am at St. James Church with a Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Rogerio Perri. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 pm to 8 pm. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
