Bobby Edmondson, Jr.

BOBBY JUNIOR EDMONDSON was born on May 27, 1931 in Arab, Alabama to Stonewall J. and Lula M. Herring Edmondson. He had a large family growing up, including twelve brothers and sisters, all now deceased.

After graduating from High School, Bobby married Wanda Elizabeth Barnard on October 22, 1955 and spent the next 23 years stationed throughout the United States, along with two tours in Germany and also Korea while he served in the Army as a missile specialist.

He retired from the Army in 1972 as a First Sergeant and they moved back to Alabama where he worked at Redstone Arsenal as a Water and Sewage Plant Operator. They raised three children, Terry, Jeff and Randy and spent over 56 years together before Wanda’s death in June of 2012. He enjoyed working his garden, raising cattle and goats and living on the farm.

Bobby went home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2015 leaving behind two children, a daughter: Terry Camp and a son and daughter-in-law: Jeff and Deanna Edmondson; seven grandchildren: Stacy, Kelly, Kevin, Nathan, Adrienne, Sydney and Peyton, ten great grandchildren: Karley, Anthony, Tyler, Kaleb, Brooklyn, Elijah, Ian, Hannah, Braeden and Anna. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and his loyal pets, Buffy and Annabelle. He was preceded in death by his youngest son: Randy Scott Edmondson and a son-in-law: Bobby Camp.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Brother Keith Hodges and Brother Keith Couch, officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Camp, Ken Bean, Henry Lovvorn and great grandchildren: Anthony Camp, Tyler Bean, Keleb McCarley and Eli McCarley.
