Bobby Neilous Hancock

Husband of Betty W Hancock Bobby Neilous Hancock, 68, of 336 County Line Road, Bassett, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

He was born in Patrick County on Sept. 9, 1938, to Joshua King David Hancock and Mattie Adams Hancock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Hancock; seven brothers, Harvey Hancock, Curtis Hancock, Homer Hancock, Walter Hancock, Bill Hancock, Bernard Hancock and Lem Hancock; and three sisters, Ethel Rea, Frances Schumke and Lillian Wimbish.

He was self-employed and was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Hancock of the home; two sons, Paul Hancock of Preston and Jimmy Hancock of Bassett; a daughter, Judy Handy of Patrick Springs; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Sandlin of Haynes and Juanita Wahnee of Hampton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Bassett Funeral Services south chapel with Pastor Cletus Lackey and Pastor Danny Gilley officiating. Burial will be in the Foley family cemetery.
