He arrived in Philadelphia on the ship "Eastern Branch" captained by John Nevin. He was from the Rhineland Pfalz county (Heidleburg to Baden-Baden) He signed a will in 1816 in Monroe Co., VA.

"In the name of God amen, I Boston Shaver of Monroe county and State of Virginia, being this the abundant Mercy of God in perfect health and unstanding and memory, Do constitute this my last Will and Testament and Desire it to be Rec. by all as Such. Impremise I most humbly bequeath my Soul to Go my maker beseaching his most gracious acceptance of it through the all Sufficient morals and mediation of my most compassionate Redeemer Jesus Christ who gave himself to be an attonement for my sins and is able to Save to the uttermost all that come unto God by him Impremis I give my Body to the earth from whence it was taken in full assurance of its Resurrection from thence at the last Day, as for my burial I Desire it may it may be Decent without pomp at the Descretion of my Executors here after named who doubt not will manage it with all requisite prudence, as to my worldly estate I will and positively order that all my Debts be paid.

Item I give and bequeath to my beloved sons Jacob Shaver and George Shaver the plantation where George Shaver now lives to be equally dividedbetween them. Item I give and bequeath to my beloved sons Christopher Shaver and John Shaver the plantation where they now live to be Equally Devided between them. The said Christopher Shaver shall pay Jacob Shaver one Hundred Pounds Virginia Currency whick I also bequeath to sd Jacob Shaver. The sd John Shaver shall pay George Shaver one Hundred Pounds Virginia Currency which I also bequeath to George Shaver. Item I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Hamberger, one negro boy named Lewis, and after her and her husbands decease the negro boy to decent to Boston Hansberger for ever. Item I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Barbara Rowan one negro man named David, also one negro girl named Betsy, after the decease of Barbara Rowan the negro man David to be sold and to be equally devided among her children, and the negro girl named Betsy shall descent to Boston Rowan for ever. Item I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Sally one negro woman named Rose, and after her decease, the sd Rose and her increase to descent to her heirs forever. Item I give bequeath to my beloved grandson Samuel Longton one boy named James for ever. and I so constitute Christopher Shaver and John Shaver my sole Executors of this my last and Testament in witness where of I have here unto set my hand amd 1 day of January 1816."

Also called Boston. Sometimes listed as Bostian, Bosten or Berten. Sometimes listed as Schaber, Shauver, Shavor or Shaver. (Shawver is pronounced "Show-ver")' There appears to be some difference of opinion as to whom actually was Sebastian's father. Most sources that I have seen list Daniel Schaber, b. 1701 in Saxony, Germany. Some, however, list Christoph Schaber as the father. Also, the exact place of birth is variously listed as: 1. Dresden, Saxony, Germany 2. Nordheim, Wuertenberg, Germany and 3. Hesse Darmstadt, German. Hopefully, these issues can be resolved in the future.
