• *Cause of death for young Boyd is noted as "kicked by horse & suffered compound communicating fracture of skull...shock with acute meningitis", injury occurring on August 4, 1898, death at 4 a.m. on August 6, 1898.

I simply cannot fathom the depth of agony his parents and siblings went through while Boyd was suffering from this profound head injury. Those those two days before he passed away had to have been agonizing for them and so painful for Boyd.
