About Brenda Carol Haley
July 2, 1947 - July 28, 2020 Brenda Talley-Haley, 73, of Fredericksburg, Va. went to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mason Haley. She was the daughter of the late Alden Talley & Catherine Spicer Talley. Mrs. Haley is survived by two sons, L. Scott Haley (Mary), of Orange, and Forrest J. Haley (Trina), of Fredericksburg; her grandchildren, Ryan Newton (Tabitha), Regan Haley-Walker (Justin), Gavin Haley, and her great-grandson, Cooper Newton. Mrs. Haley graduated from Spotsylvania High School in 1965, and she was also crowned Ms. Spotsylvania that year. In addition, she graduated in 1967 with an associate's degree from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. She was also a member of the Bon Air Jr. Woman's Club, and she volunteered at the Mary Washington Hospital Auxiliary and the Salvation Army. Mrs. Haley was a strong and feisty lady. She was the glue that held her family together after the death of her husband, Jimmy. She successfully raised two children (Scott & Forrest), ran a successful horse farm (Pleasant View Farm), started the bridal department for Leggett at Spotsylvania Mall, and ran a successful business (ATA Tire Center), of Fredericksburg. She also had a sharp wit about her, and she was never at a loss for words. During her life, she enjoyed raising horses, reading, participating in book clubs and bridge clubs, gardening, knitting, shopping and she had a love for art and for animals. As per her wishes, the graveside service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter, Salvation Army, Wounded Warriors, or SPCA. Mrs. Haley made generous donations to several non-profit organizations, over the years, and these were some of her favorites.
