Bridget attended a convent as a girl and the day after she married Michael Mahoney she moved to his farm in Quebec where they raised 10 children.
Her first born son, Michael Mahoney Jr. became famous as "Klondike Mike" for his exploits of strength and endurance in the Yukon Gold Rush, whose stories of running a dog sled 600 miles in the Yukon winter served as inspiration for Jack London's novel, Call of the Wild.
