Before Bridget and John McDermott went west they visited with Annie McMahon in Philadelphia in 1904 or 5? Jerry Flynn says he has a photograph of Bridget and her Aunt Annie McMahon together in front of Annie's house.
Ellis Island records show that Bridget McDermott arrived on Feb. 29 1904 on the ship "Eutria" which sailed from Queenstown on Feb. 21, 1904. She gave her age as 22, is married and occupation is "housekeeper". She departed from Cootehill (Cookhill in Ellis Island database) and was traveling to join her husband, John McDermott, in Heudrum (Hendrum), Minn. She claimed to have $50.00 with her. Her records also bears the notation " US Citizen disch on pier" - is this because she is married to a US citizen? Her husband John WAS on the same ship.
BMcC remembers the surprise surrounding the birth of Aunt Bridget's last child, Agnes, as she was abt. 50 at the time.
She died in Yankton State Hospital in Yankton, SD. according to Barbara Kenstler, Feb. 04She and her husband emigrated to the US immediately after their marriage.
