Many of the Stone children lived to be very old, the oldest, as far as we know, was Bridget, who married Stephen Boylan, and lived at Barra Head. Her obituary in the Cape Breton Post, in March of 1904, had her down as 105 years old. We believe her to be the second born after Jonas, born in 1799, she was probably born in 1800.

At the time of the 1891 Census taking, Bridget - listed as 91, is living with her son George, no wife or children listed for him, her daughters Mary and Bessie are also in the household (as were in 1881) with no husbands or children listed for them either. Her husband Stephen obviously died prior to 1861 as he is not on any of the subsequent census listings...

Bridget Stone Boylan is living with the McDonalds at the time of the 1901 Census - listed at age 100...she died four years later in March of 1904...
