Obituary-Edwards, Bruce The Salt Lake Tribune Name: Name: The Salt Lake Tribune:02/05/2002;; The Salt Lake Tribune, Obituary-Edwards, Bruce (The Salt Lake Tribune:02/05/2002), Bruce LeRoy Edwards ... 02/05/2002 Date: 02/05/2002 Edition: Final Section: Utah Page: B10 Keywords: Obituaries Bruce LeRoy Edwards I have passed away after a short battle with cancer, on a bright, clear Sunday morning, Feb. 3, 2002. I have gone to a warmer place where I can play unlimited golf and fish all the time. I was born March 9, 1938 in Santaquin, Utah, the son of Nolan and Wilma York Edwards. I was in the Air Force and loved serving my country. I was in the automobile business for 41 years and have many special friends from that experience. For the last four years, after retiring I have worked in the Substance Abuse Field hoping to help others. I married Carolyn Mitchell, the love of my life, in 1973 who has showed me the love and beauty of the world. I am survived by my loving wife, Carolyn; three sons, Kory Beckstead (deceased), Jim DeJong (Gail), and Scott DeJong (Julie); daughters, Deb Sillers (C.J.) and Megan; nine grandsons, seven granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maureen McCormick (Don) and Anita Hammond (Ken); brother-in-law, Tom (Michele) Mitchell; many wonderful, caring nieces and nephews. One of my greatest blessings was to have 16.5 years sobriety from alcohol. I would like to pass on this message to others afflicted with this disease, "You can overcome it and life can be whole and beautiful." A celebration of my life will be held Thursday, February 7, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where friends may call from 11:00-12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. Online guest book and direction map at www.russonmortuary.com Volume: 263 Publication number: 114 .
