He was previously employed as a meter reader for the city of Arnaudville in the Utilities Department for 24 years. Mr. Meche was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, where he was an Usher. He was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. Zerangue of Opelousas and Patsy M. Meche and the former, Oscalie Olivier, both natives of Arnaudville; one son, Carl Meche; one daughter, Shelia Meche; one son-in-law,Ricky Arias; two brothers, Alvin J. Meche and Willie Meche; and four sisters, Winnie M. Zerangue, Melonie M. Guidroz, Lola M. Latiolais and Marie M.
