Byron H. STUDEBAKER, 1096 South Shore Drive, Culver, died at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Hospital.
He was born in Fulton to Claude M. and Ethel HICKS STUDEBAKER. On May 8, 1938, in Culver, he married June McLANE, who died Oct. 16, 1985. On Nov. 28, 1987, in Culver, he married Dollis ZECHIEL DILLON who survives. He had lived on Lake Maxinkuckee since 1987, coming from Oxnard, Calif. He was a retired manufacturing engineer at Rockwell International. He was a member of Culver Grace United Church of Christ, American Society of Tooling and Manufacturing Engineers, past member of Free and Accepted Masons and past editor of the Studebaker Family National Association.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Richard and wife Joyce STUDEBAKER, Camarillo, Calif.; two step-daughters, Cheryl and Thomas BOSWELL, Richmond, Va., and Joan and Allen FREES, Windsor, Conn.; one step-son, Dr. Gary and Ann DILLON, Columbia City; one granddaughter, Michele STUDEBAKER, Camarillo, Calif.; one grandson, Steven STUDEBAKER, Sacramento, Calif.: eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandson and two step-great-grandsons. Preceding in death was one sister, Rachel CRABILL.
Services are 1 p.m. today at Grace United Church of Christ, Culver, Rev. Robert McCANN will officiate. Burial will be in the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo, Calif. Friends may call after noon today at the church. Bonine Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements."
