The 1872 birth date on the gravestone is incorrect:</line><line /><line>1. Charles was in the 1870 census and is shown as being 3 years old. Hence he could not have been born in 1872.</line><line /><line>2. The obit in the Ogdensburg Advance (Oct 10, 1912) states Charles was 45 when he died. This shows he was born in 1866 or 1867 by the latest. </line><line /><line>3 The 1880 census lists Charles as being 13. This shows he was born in 1866 or 1867 by the latest. </line><line /><line>4. The 1900 census gives the birth date of every person listed. The date of birth for Charles is recorded as April 1866.</line><line /><line>5. The 1905 state census states the age of Charles as 36. This would indicate a birth date around 1868 - 1869.</line><line /><line>6. The 1910 census give Charles birth as 45.
