My brother was Cheah Cheang Hooi who was the Grandfather of Tan Sri Cheah Cheng Kooi.

In 1921 was a Trustee of the Cheah Kong Si in Armenian Street.

Born in Taiping in 1875, Cheah Cheang Lim is the 6th child of Cheah Boon Hean. He was educated at the Taiping Central School and from 1890 to 1894 served in the Post Office as Sub-Postmaster at Lahat. In 1894, he joined his uncle, Foo Choo Choon (king of tin mine) as private secretary becoming assistant manager two years later. He acquired the Tronoh Concession for his uncle. In 1899, he was appointed Manager of the Perak and Penang Mining Co Ltd. He started mining on a small scale on his own proving to be as lucky when he struck a rich lode at his 50 acre land at Lahat Kiri. He is Chairman of the Ipoh Foundry Ltd and a director of the Tanglin Rubber Estate Syndicate Ltd. In addition to his success, he was a social activist. In 1904, he donated a piece of land for the Chinese Maternity Hospital in Ipoh. In 1905, he petitioned against gambling and asked the High Commissioner to abolish the Gambling Farms in the FMS. He also served on the Perak Anti Opium Society as Treasurer. Mr Cheah also served on the Federal Council and was appointed Justice of Peace.
