Henry was the son of Michael Seeligson and Adelaide Gottschalk. He married Anna Sophia Garlick 20 Jul 1852 in Galveston and they had the following children; Harry, Edward, Alice, Florence, and Arthur.

--- Fort Worth Daily Gazette (Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX), Wed., 16 Mar 1887, p. 2, c. 5 Henry Seeligson Dead - Special to the Gazette - Galveston, Tex., March 13 - A telegram was received here this morning from Corpus Christi announcing the death of Henry Seeligson, for many years a prominent resident of this city. His death resulted from typhoid fever. The deceased was fifty-nine years of age; came to Galveston in 1838, served through the war in Woods' Texas Rangers, settled on the Rio Grande at the close of the war, and became largely identified with the Attlee industry. For several years he was a prominent banker of Galveston. His wife and three sons and two daughters survive him, also three brothers well known in the business world of Texas.

His wife and children, also his brother, Mr. George Seeligson, of Galveston, were with him at the time of his death. He was buried today at 4 p.m., with Masonic honors, from the Episcopal Church. A large funeral followed his remains.
