About Cady Sarvis
Cady Hatch (b. c. 1760 - d. 1799) was the first wife of John Sarvis II. Cady is listed as "unknown 1st wife of John Sarvis" on DAR applications.
Lora Hannah Floyd (1773 - 1851) was the second wife of John Sarvis Jr. Ancestry note: As was the custom of the time for a man with a young family, John William married quickly to Lora Hannah Floyd.
The children born before 1799 are the children of Cady Hatch include:
William Sarvis (though his findagrave note questions whether he is of this family. No mention of him in J. W. Sarvis' will, though he could received a share before he went to Kentucky.),
Samantha Sarvis Boone Hucks,
Clarky Sarvis Alford Smith,
Wealthy Sarvis Dennis,
Gabriel Sarvis.
Children of John William Sarvis and Lora Hannah Floyd include:
Mary Sarvis Sessions,
Cornelius Benjamin Sarvis,
Lewis Floyd Sarvis,
Louisa Pawley Sarvis Beaty,
Elizabeth Sarvis Stevenson,
John Fitz Sarvis.

Regarding Cady, first wife of John Sarvis, Jr:I have nothing "official" as to her last name being Hatch. She is mentioned in the Sarvis family bible only as a Sarvis. The entry reads "Cady Sarvis was born" with the page torn at that point, and no further information on her. However, the bible also says that Jabez and Martha Hatch were married March 13th, 1792.Age when married, 32 years and 3 months for Jabez, with the wife's age given with as? years(the page was again torn) 4 months, and 1 day.It also records the birth of Jabez and Martha's first born, Pall Hatch, on February 3, 1793, at 5 in the morning. While this does not prove that Cady was a Hatch, it does indicate that the Hatch family was associated with theSarvis family in some way.
This information was gotten from the Independent Republic Quarterly, Summer 1984, Page 29, contributed by Pansy Page Jensen, a cousin of mine who has done extensive research on the Sarvisfamily. The Independent Republic Quarterly is a publication of the Horry County (South Carolina) Historical Society.
