Caleb Baldwin, son of Ezekiel Baldwin and Sarah Baldwin (Baldwin) (cousins), was b. in Connecticut Farms, Essex County, New Jersey on October 23, 1757 (page says 1857 in error); m. with LYDIA JOHNSON, daughter of Dr. Johnson, of Newark, New Jersey. He died in 1799; she died in 1812. He's said by his descendants to have served in the Revolution with credit, and to have excelled in his business, priding himself that his saddle never hurt a horse's back.
Children: David Johnson (1785), Eunice (married Simeon Crane), Elizabeth (1788), Sallie (m. Henry Baldwin), Isaac (1790), Caleb (1799), Catherine (b. New Jersey; m. Jabez Freeman), and child (d.y.).
