Callie Leone Harrison

Updated 8/24/2016(CLM): Callie (Harrison) Cox was born in Northeast Missouri in 1889 on a farm. She would recount how she and her siblings would milk cows and lower the bucket of milk down a well overnight to cool and allow the cream to separate. She also helped her father run the Hunnewell Mercantile Exchange. Callie also recalled that her Father once built a house in Hannibal without nails but pegs. Callie's Father was warned that the windows were too close to the floor and the children could brake the windows but the windows were never broken. She was married to Homer Wallace Harrison(1885-1955) for over 40 years. In the early 1960's she moved to Florida where her sons Maurry W. Harrison and Clifton Harrison lived. She lived with her 1st cousin Ione B.Cox (1889-1987) in the middle of an orange grove off Cox Road. I(CLM) came into contact with a Granddaughter of Homer's brother Peter, and she said one of her cousins came to the house in Hannibal. Homer and Callie had one of the first electric washing machines in Hannibal. The Cousin described Callie a introverted but friendly and Homer as a extravert .Callie was an introvert and to me (CLM) a reflective person.
