Calvin Boreman (1990 - 2007)

Brief overview:

Calvin (17), a soccer player, was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on 25th October 2007.

Police investigations linked the same attackers to a crime spree including a series of drive-by shootings, and the "execution-style" shooting and hijacking of businessmen Thami Mbindwane (26), and Masizane Mtshatsha (31), in Georgetown, Pietermaritzburg, on October 20th. Also crimes committed over a two-week period between October 14th - when Elaine Anderson and Patricia Kippen were shot in their cars in separate incidents in Woodlands - to October 26th.

Police investigated seven cases of murder, seven attempted murders, three rapes as well as armed robbery and abduction charges against the two men - Sibusiso Duma (24), and Simphiwe Christopher Khesi (33). They were remanded in custody pending further police investigations until November 12th 2007.
