About Capt. Christopher Clark

Capt Christopher Clark b. c 1703 of Hanover/Louisa Co, and Patriot Christopher Clark married a Penelope (Johnston) Clark and they had John Clark md Ann Rogers in 1748 so not the Penelope Johnston Clark who was b. 1677 in New Kent. Why is his wife not a Massey or a Bollin? Because, Penelope ( Massie / Massey) Clark who was Sarah Penelope Massie born in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, VA, in 1681, same parish where this particular Penelope Johnston Clark was born 3 years later could not be the same person. Also, Sarah Penelope Massie married William Johnson in 1698 in New Kent County, VA and died in childbirth on 8/28/1711. Lastly, this Penelope Johnston of this profile is a different age range with primary sourced line to Micajah Clark family who have the Penelope Bollin. Those are the reasons this Penelope (Johnston) Clark is yet a third Penelope other than the one born to the Ultster Plantation Community in 1684 and the one name Bollin who is alive at a much later date.

Father Most Likely Candidates: RICHARD JOHNSTON. Why? Because he is in the same place at the same time with the spouse of this Penelope Johnston making decisions about what Wirt Johnson Carrington wrote: "Capt Christopher Clark, of the Provincial Army of Virginia was Justice of the first Bench of Magistrates, of Louis Co, Va (Separated from Hanover Co) existing Dec 12-13 1742, formed of Col Roert Lewis, presiding; Capt. Christopher Clark, Ambrose Joshua Smith, Abran Venerables, Richard Johnston, Thomas Meriweather, Robert Harris, John Poindexter, Genry and others. Capt Christopher married Penelope Johnston. (See reference to Richard Johnston, likely brother or father).
