2. Capt. Isaac Negus, Sr. was baptized in Boston, on January 3, 1650. He was a cooper of Taunton, Bristol County, MA., in 1675 and styled himself as "sole heir of Jonathan Negus, late of Boston." He died in Swansea, MA, November 29, 1700. He married in Taunton/Swansea, on April 7, 1679, Hannah Andrews. She was born in 1643 or 1659. She was the daughter of Henry Andrews, who was killed by Indians in the King Phillip's War, while at work on his farm in April or May 1676. Her mother was Hannah Street, daughter of Rev. Nicholas Street. They had two sons as follows:

  • 1. Isaac Negus, Jr See below.
  • 2. Henry Negus, born in 1690, in Swansea, Bristol County, MA.

Following the death of Isaac Negus, Hannah Andrews married (2) William Corbett.


When Isaac Negus was born about 21 February 1650, in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Jonathan Negus, was 49 and his mother, Jane Deighton, was 40. He married Hannah Andrews on 7 April 1679, in Taunton, Plymouth Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 5 sons. He died on 29 November 1700, in Swansea, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, at the age of 50, and was buried in Swansea, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.
