About Capt. John Taylor

When the French & Indians attacked Pascommuck on the morning of May 13th, 1704, Samuel Bartlett was in the party that rode out to pursue the fleeing attackers. This may have caused more harm than good, since the Indians began killing their captives, rather then be slowed down by women & children. The leader of the rescue party, Capt. John Taylor, was killed, and Samuel Bartlett severely wounded.
