Thomas Triplett Hunter, known as "T.T. Hunter," was the son of Gen. John Chapman Hunter and wife Sarah Dade Triplett. He was born in 1813 and died in 1872. He married Mary Virginia Herbert.
Capt. T.T. Triplett is best known as a Confederate Naval Captain during the US Civil War. He commanded the CSS Raleigh and the CSS Curlew. He was involved in the capture of the USS Fanny in 1861 off North Carolina.
