Capt. Andrew Byrd, Jr. d. 1799 of Rockingham County; Lieutenant of Militia 1742; Captain 1752; married Mary, widow of Joseph Reece, and had one daughter, Catherine and four sons. 1730c. Andrew Byrd, Jr., son of Andrew and Magdalene Jones Bird, was born about 1730. He married Mary -----. He died, 20Jan 1799. In 1753, Valentine Sevier and his wife, Joanna, sold to Andrew Bird, 184 acres of land "Between Limestone Ridge and Smiths Creek; corner Andrew Bird's survey, Robert Milsap's survey," etc. J.
