About Captain Joseph Stocking
45. Joseph Stocking4 (Daniel. Samuel, George), b. Feb. 27, 1703, Upper Houses ; m. (1) Dec. 20, 1726, Abigail3 Ranney (Joseph, Thomas) ; m. (2) widow Hannah Magill. He was known as " Captain." In 1727 his father deeded to him an acre of land on the corner of the lot on the west side of the street, on which he built. In 1732 his brothers and sisters quitclaimed to him the 12 or 14 acres remaining on that side. She d. Mar. 26, 1783, he Oct. 16, 1783.
Of his children by the first wife, who d. July 1, 1777, there was:
