2. Pvt. Luke/5a Brooks was born 10 Aug 1731 at Concord, MA.1 He married (int. 16 May 1755, Stow), Lucy/5 Wheeler, daughter of Capt. Timothy/4 Wheeler and Abigail/3 Munroe, with whom he had 10 children.2 They lived at Stow, where his 1790 census household included Luke, three other males over 16, and three females.3 Lucy died at Stow 8 Jan 1817.4 There he died the 17th of the same month, at age 85.5

His home, a brick house on the Stow/Boxborough town line, still stands, said his descendant Cynthia Walker in 1998: "I've never been there, but I've been told ... Go to Boxborough, and as you cross the town line into Stow, it's the 1st house over the town line, a large brick house on the left." But according to The Minute Men, he lived in Assabet Village, then part of Stow, later set off to Maynard; this location was, in 1975, at the corner of Summer Hill Rd. and Summer St.6,7
