CARL L. FENSTERMAKER, 65, WEISENBERG TAX COLLECTOR

Carl L. Fenstermaker, 65, of Fogelsville R.1, died Thursday in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center. He was the husband of Monica M. (Litovski-Weaver) Fenstermaker. They observed their 41st wedding anniversary on Tuesday.

He was a tax collector for Weisenberg Township for the past 27 years. Fenstermaker also was a manager and salesman at various branches of the Lehigh Valley Dairy for 23 years until 1973.

Born in Weisenberg Township, he was a son of the late Charles Fenstermaker and Verdie Q. (Kressley) Fenstermaker Fister.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield. He was an Army sergeant in the 101st Airborne infantry during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star, Distinguished Unit Badge, European African Service Medal and American Service Medal. In addition, he was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Allentown.

Survivors: Wife; sons, Charles J. and Joel R., both of Fogelsville R.1, Mark A. of Columbia, S.C., Michael L. of Northampton; daughter Carol, wife of Michael J. Tenutoof Fogelsville R.1; brothers, Vernon of Allentown and Robert of Fogelsville R.1, and 12 grandchildren.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Keller Funeral Home, 20 N. Church St., Fogelsville; Mass at 10 a.m. in the church. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
