Carl B. Fluke, Farmer, Dies
A R. R. 6 farmer who has lived in this community for the past 50 years died yesterday afternoon at 5:40 in the Morgan County Memorial Hospital. Carl B. Fluke, 69, had been in failing health for three years and was hospitalized for 12 hours when death occurred.
The son of James B. and Sue Gano Fluke, he was born in Scott County, Ky., June 17, 1901. On March 23, 1923, he married the former Merle Sawyer, who survives.
Other survivors include 10 children. They are Mrs. Harriet Edwards of R. R. 1, Mrs. Lou Ann Royal of 289 N. 4th St., Mrs. Sarah Williams, of Morgantown R. R. 1, Russell of Brooklyn, James W. of R. R. 4, Mrs. Ethel Sue Kennedy of Columbus, Ohio, William Dean of Mooresville R. R. 1, Mrs. Carolyn Campbell of Indianapolis and Miss Laura Frances and Ronald L. Fluke, at home. Also surviving are two brothers, two sisters, 33 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Brothers are J. O. Fluke of R. R. 4 and John of Ellettsville R. R. 1, while sisters are Mrs. Amanda Lee Wehebrink of Anderson and Mrs. Lida Winebrenner of Ellettsville R. R. 1.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Neal and Summers Chapel with Brother D. Burns officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
