The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brooks and Ada Skinner Hendrix; his wife, Doris Coleman Hendrix; and four brothers. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue and Randy Bailey of McDonough and Cathy Best of Savannah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Wendell and Betty Hendrix and Jerry Wayne and Dean Hendrix, all of Statesboro; nine grandchildren, Wayne, Mike and Jeff Hendrix, Terry Yates, Andrew, Scott and Trey Bailey, Angie Colson and Gina Lewis; nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Hilda Laircey of Statesboro and Patricia Holton of Pembroke.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Hendrix, Mike Hendrix, Trey Bailey, Scott Bailey, Mark Lewis, Jeff Colson, Jeff Hendrix and Andrew Bailey.
