

Carlo was born in Florence, Italy in 1865. He passed his MD (like his father and grand-father before him) when he was 22 and practised in Florence and then Santa Sofia (where he married Maria Leoni). He also attained the rank of Major in the Italian Army during that time. In 1901 he, his wife, and two daughters (Emma and Nella) moved to Australia. He practised in Walgett, NSW for a year and then moved to Wee Waa for a short time finally settling in Lismore, NSW.. He had three more daughters, Amalia, Margharita and Yolanda. During his time in Lismore he was Medical Superintendant of the hospital for a time and also the Government Medical Office for the area. In 1919 he moved to practise in MacQuarie St Sydney but after only eighteen months, he returned to Lismore. He died in December 1922 from throat cancer.
