Carol D. Hackney, age 79, of Quinton passed away Wednesday, July 27th in the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. Born in Lower Alloway's Creek, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Baker Drummond. Mrs. Hackney was a payroll supervisor for the H.J. Heinz Co. in Salem. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Charter 86 of Penns Grove and she enjoyed baking, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Hackney is survived by her daughter, Pamela Bacon and husband, Edward of Quinton; sisters, Ella Mae Seher of GA and Jane Sylvester of LAC; her grandchildren, Joel and Tara. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Hackney; and sisters, Florence Mowers and Peg Reising.
