When Sir John Christopher Armstrong was born in 1526, in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, his father, Sir John Armstrong, was 46 and his mother, Lady Elizabeth Graham of Montrose, was 29. He married Lady Catherine Graham of Gorte about 1545, in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. They were the parents of at least 14 sons. He died on 22 September 1606, in his hometown, at the age of 80, and was buried in Langholm, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.

Biography

Gorthe Catherine Graham was born about 1530 in Falde, Scotland. She was the daughter of Sir William Graham 4th of Fintry. She married Christopher Armstrong in 1545 in Barngleish, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons, among them:

   John Armstrong (1545 - 1628),

   Robert Armstrong (1563 - 1564),

   William Armstrong (1565 - 1649). 

Catherine died in 1575 in Dumfriesshire, Scotland.
