4. William "The Elder" BROOKE was born about 1702 in Essex Co., Virginia and died in 1734 in Died In A Naval Battle, about age 32.

• 1685 Sept 4 Catherine had been placed in the care of Mrs. Martha Moseley wife of Capt. William Moseley since his(father) decease. (1676-82, 172). (Wm. &ary Quarterly, Jan 1903,p.210) Catherine was put in possession of half of her father's estate 4 sep 1685, having come of age and on 19 Jun joined in a deed with her brother Humphrey Booth.
