About Catherine Hinkle
No evidence exists to date and to my knowledge that Catherine Harper was widowed or ever married before her relationship with Jesse Hinkle. They were never officially married and the children are the result of their union, but never recognized as Hinkles because the marriage was never legitimized. Therefore all the children went by their mother's maiden name "Harper."
